He's saying the troops volunteered for this...I guess emphasizing that it's not HIS fault that they're being killed and maimed while fighting a losing battle.

What a putz!

Were they liberated 3 years ago today? I didn't know that. I thought democracy was still on the march.

25. Oh, he had been well coached on that...
Likely all the way back from Camp David...He said it twice within 20 seconds...."This is the third anniversary of the beginning of the liberation of Iraq"......THE BEGINNING of the liberation of Iraq.

27. From someone I'd trust to tell the truth
http://riverbendblog.blogspot.com/

Three Years...
It has been three years since the beginning of the war that marked the end of Iraq’s independence. Three years of occupation and bloodshed.

Spring should be about renewal and rebirth. For Iraqis, spring has been about reliving painful memories and preparing for future disasters. In many ways, this year is like 2003 prior to the war when we were stocking up on fuel, water, food and first aid supplies and medications. We're doing it again this year but now we don't discuss what we're stocking up for. Bombs and B-52's are so much easier to face than other possibilities.

I don’t think anyone imagined three years ago that things could be quite this bad today. The last few weeks have been ridden with tension. I’m so tired of it all- we’re all tired.

6. Had a phone call with Ambassador of Iraq.
Iraqis voted for democracy. Now they are working together to put a gv't. together. He and ambassador are pleased with the results so far. He's puffing up the soldiers for the third anniversary. We should thank the Military on the third anniversary. They are working on a winning strategy. May God continue to bless our troops. SAME OLD BULLSHIT.

Not that he said anything worthwhile, anyway. One would think that 3 years would warrant a longer statement, but I expect too much.

24. what I would like to see
on the Daily Show:

get clip's of bush*'s televised speeches, and put them up all at the same time saying the same thing

the other alternative is to show clips sequentially (dates running along the bottom) and pasted together into one speech type presentation....
