You lot talk about choices and opportunism and invidualism.

Don't waste your time coming to us.

Well, we will have sympathy to an extent - but why would we help those who, if the situation was reversed, let us rot?

Partly because we're Christian (or "Christ-like" to the agnostics out there) and partly because knowing that you got into the situation where you needed someone, you might open up you desert of a mind and let in some fresh air.

1. That is a sweeping generalization!

I am a huge tree-hugging, vegan, save the environment person, but I have an SUV. I have to have something that will pull a horse trailer. When they make a gas saving vehicle or hybrid that can pull a multi-horse trailer I'll buy it! But for now, I buy what will get me where I need to go...
