3. Sure it is. It is civil to fight among yourselves instead of crossing
borders and fighting others. Fighting others is Rude. Fighting your own is civil or as DimSon will put it Sybil.

4. Do You Really Want To Know?
Edited on Mon Mar-20-06 10:27 AM by ThomWV
Looked like a rhetorical question to me.

But, if you really want to know why its called what it is look to the words themselves, or in the case the word "Civil". Coming from Latin Civ(is) it simply means citizen as a man, but citizen as a man as distinguished from military man or ecclesiastical man. Hence a Civil war is a war between citizens, not a war between an established military and its citizens nor a war between man and his or anyone Else's religion. So the Crusades were not a civil war, our intrusion into Iraq is not a civil war, but that other pesky thing, the one where Iraqis are killing Iraqis over matters politic, that is a civil war. When they do it because one side is Sunni and the other Sh ia, that is not a civil war either by the way, that would be what we call a Religious War.

5. When I was a kid I thought it was the Silver War and MLK JR fought for
silver rights for black people, because after the Silver War blacks didn't get the silver they were promised.
