He can remember Vajpayee, but he can't remember Singh?

I was "privileged" to see about 15 seconds of the President's speech in Cleveland today, and in that 15 minutes, I learned two things.

1) The president can identify what the leader of Pakistan's name is (Musharraf) but he doesn't remember what his title is, as he identified him first as Prime Minister Musharraf (Musharraf is a president - just like you, sir!).

2) The president can remember the name of former BJP Prime Minister Vajpayee, but he can't recall what the current prime minister's name is. He met with him a few weeks ago. They talked mangoes and nuclear weapons. His name is Singh. He's the first Sikh prime minister. The most common Sikh name is Singh. And yet the name escaped him.

We're really in a lot of trouble here. Foreign governments, send help please.

Vajpayee was far too difficult for him to pronounce, so they spent lots more time on that one, helpful mnemonics, speech coaches, the works. They probably spent only a few minutes preparing him to pronounce Singh, and thus the information never made it to Bush the Lesser's long-term memory.
