What's the disconnect between the W press conf. we saw, and its coverage
on TV? I received calls from my family after Bush's press conference this morning, expressing more disbelief than usual, expressing speculation, suspicions, even depression. I have since read that the press conference was covered on all TV networks, including broadcast? Can anyone report the response? I've seen one post here indicating that Bob Schieffer on CBS was very high on Bush's performance.

Another post, from debbierlus, reports the press caught making fun, and laughing, afterwards:

But not on air, I'll bet. Were the media charmed again this morning by the bizarro guy the rest of us saw?

3. It was fine if you like endless repetition. Seriously, there was
some blunt truth there about not pulling out. That is not hopeful even though we know their underlying agenda - to own the Middle East not with Israel, but for Israel as well as for the corporations and barons.

One thing we've learned from postings on DU - their agenda is decades old. Not just from the 1970's, more like the 1920's. Others don't realize this and we learned and accepted it slowly because it meant realigning our heritage of pride (at least for me).

We have been given a wonderful gift - with the fast moving information on sites such as DU. It's a gift that brings pain. We receive knowledge that is painful to believe and adopt. The knowledge shakes us awake. Others are not there yet.

It's easy to see your family's frustration. They are just waking up.
