Pastors' Get-Out-the-Vote Training Could Test Tax Rules
WASHINGTON, March 20 — Weeks after the Internal Revenue Service announced a crackdown on political activities by churches and other tax-exempt organizations, a coalition of nonprofit conservative groups is holding training sessions to enlist Pennsylvania pastors in turning out voters for the November elections.

1. "Get out the vote" campaigns meet tax code criteria
That is how groups like the League of Women Voters qualify for and maintain their status 501(c) group. However, get out the vote campaigns must not endorse or support any candidate, position, policy or point of view. Campaigns specifically to endorse conservative positions would definitely violate those restrictions, and I hope all churches who participate get their tax-exempt status revoked, with penalties.
