How you could get to the truth regarding chimp's true bedrock support.
Edited on Tue Mar-21-06 02:11 PM by IsItJustMe
I do believe, if a poll was created, that asked the following question, we could get to a true percentage of chimp's hard core support. The question is this:

Do you believe that the president is doing gods will?

This sounds like a ignorant question, but it's not. There are a number of fundamentalist evangelical christians who truly believe this. Why?
Chimp has made several comments in the past regarding talking and being guided by god. He's promoted this and the fundamentalists have accepted it.

My quess is that you would get a 10% to 15% positive response to this question.

just yesterday that God wants HER to run for Senate. (Just as God told Pat Robertson to become a minister after he flunked the bar exam.)

3. yeah. I've always noticed when people I know say "God wants me to" you
could just as easily put in "I" for "God" becuase it's never anything unpleasant - like sell all your stuff and give the proceeds to the poor.

5. How about, 'God wants me to go to war' which the chimp supposedly told
some Amish folk in Pennsylvania. God told Jim Jones to have everyone kill themsleves. God seems to tell a lot of people to do bad things.

2. I agree. Pollsters have been shy about testing the depth of irrationalism
and ignorance prevailing in Bush's base and the country as a whole.
I don't doubt there would be some very frightened people in upper middle class suburbia if they found out what their fellow Bush voters really knew (or didn't know) and believed about the Universe--Sun going around the Earth and Hell at the center of the world type of stuff.

4. It's probably an intentional avoidance...
in order to divulge to what extent RADICAL FUNDAMENTALISM exists in this country in equal proportions to other non-Christian radical fundamentalists.
