Gallup Cuts Ties to CNN-Citing low viewship
Gallup Cuts Ties to CNN
TV Newser: "Citing low viewership and its own ambitions, The Gallup Poll is cutting its ties to CNN this summer."

The reason was spelled out in an internal memo: "CNN has far fewer viewers than it did in the past, and we feel that our brand was getting lost and diluted... We have only about 200,000 viewers during our CNN segments."

Meanwhile, CNN said they cut ties with Gallup, not the other way around.

2. Is this something I should give a damn about?
Watching the MSM's alleged "news" is an exercise in futility if not masochism.

Thanks to the internet we can now get real news instead of the "entertainment" that now passes for it here.

6. Well, Maybe if CNN Were *Liberal* Again...
...and regularly went after Bush, they would have more viewers. I know I would watch them again.

Of course, the big irony here is that CNN has been trying to re-create itself in Fox's image, most recently hiring THREE rabidly right-wing "contributors"--J.C. "Chicken Voting For Colonel Sanders" Watts, Bill "Abort Black Babies" Bennett, and Glen "I'm Thinking About Killing Michael Moore" Beck. Another irony is that Gallup is an avowed conributor to the GOP!

14. Its not what they say
Where are they going to go? Fox has its own. NBC has its own polling, CBS also.

15. Gallup not exactly upfront
They said Bush had an 8 point lead on Kerry one week, but the week previous Kerry was up by a point. A 9 point swap is not real. It turns out they were counting Likely Voters and not Registered Voters -like the week before when Kerry and Bush were dead even.
