I know this is a risky statement to make BUT:
DUers, I think that those of you who fired off an e-mail to CNN when we first learned about their beginning attacks on "V for Vendetta" actually thwarted the smear that Solidad inferred in the morning, yesterday. I watched most of the day yesterday and did not hear a follow-up to her lead in to a story about the movie. I may be giving us too much credit but i really think they (CNN) thought about what they were about to do and figured that anything they discussed about the movie would give it more publicity than they intended.

My spouse made a statement that is very true. If the propaganda is as bad as it is, just think what it would be like without the Internet. Makes me shudder.

2. Oh yes CNN cares about profits and careers being destroyed, so........
....yes they do care. Maybe not the way we want them to care but there is a lot of pressure as well as direct and indirect threats going around these days. So, yes they care A LOT!!

3. Well, why do you think they didn't follow through with their attack?
Just curious.

5. because they were busy with the * press conference
or some other propaganda

After all, this was "just a movie", and we do NOT want to give to much attention to something that may cause more people to see it, and perhaps notice a similarity in current events.

We will never know, but that is just my cynical view. After 15 years of B.S. coming from that medium, I don't expect too much

4. I welcome CNN's....
... lame assed attempts to keep people from watching a movie. It won't work, but it will do a stellar job of opening a few more eyes to the reality of the propaganda machine.

6. Think the Busbots learned something since F-911? The more they
talked about F-911 the more people went to see it.
