the Fox news panel agreed that it is the media's fault
Edited on Wed Mar-22-06 02:01 PM by quinnox
after Bush's campaign "commercial" event Fox news had a General who had been in Iraq recently and he agreed that the media is not showing all the good things happening.

They must be desperate to think this will work, it ain't gonna work.

5. someone brought up the fact last night
that over 80 journalists in Iraq have been killed trying to report on all this "good" news.

the guy from ABC News who was severely injured recently was one of them: he made it his mission to go over there just to get the good news out.

14. The school that is falling apart? The school with no textbooks?
The school without children or teachers, because it's too dangerous for the kids to leave their homes (dangerous even inside their homes) and teachers are fleeing the country?

THAT school?

They never give us the goods! I guess it hasn't been much of an issue until it hit their talking points... perhaps I should just give them time to create some good news, huh?

it was too dangerous for them to go out into the streets to get there.

10. Is that there only hope?
...blaming the media?

What about their claim to be the only party "with values"?
Isn't one of these "values"... RESPONSIBILITY? (As in taking RESPONSIBILITY for your actions....instead of always being the victim... and blaming others?)

15. The bleeding obvious ...
If things are going as well in Iraq as Bush says they are, why don't they show us photographs of the new schools and hospitals that have been built, up and running without any problems? Why don't they show us fuzzy-warm video clips of Iraqis shopping merrily in downtown Baghdad, without fear? Why don't they film interviews with Iraqi citizens, extolling the fact that they now have full-time electricity, clean drinking water, and a thriving economy?

The answer is all too obvious. They can't show us these things, because they simply don't exist.

said the same thing on CSPAN and the WJ host treated her as if she was dangerously insane.

18. As the WSJ reporter returned from Iraq said
If there were 50 assassinations and five car bombs a day in Manhattan, the NY Times wouldn't be writing about a school that got painted.
