Did you See? Lewis Lapham (Harpers Mag) Impeach Bush/C-Span WJ

this morning. He was incredible. Very quietly listing why Bush should be impeached and for once we had good Dem callers who were articulate and added to Lapham's points. A few Freeps called in...but they were idiots as usual who weren't listening to the show but just calling with their "note cards" of Repug Talking Points.

yes. I know he's up there in years and ready to retire. But, hey, any man who speaks as well as he does is sexy.
He's been on CSPAN before. AND The Daily Show.
He's reasonable and polite. And he squashes the opposition by being everything they aren't. Intelligent, considerate, and articulate.
Lapham is a wonderful American.

And I just love to listen to the articulate, intelligent Welsh actors like Derek Jacobi, Anthony Hopkins and Richard Burton.

7. I've been in awe of Lewis Lapham for many years.

I've had this 'thing' for people with a mastery of language ever since I read Robert Benchley as a young teen-ager. Lewis Lapham is, in that sense, my hero. About 10 years ago, he wrote an essay in Harpers on What It Means To Be An American ... that just blew me away. It was one of the best essays I've ever read.
