Easter is not about BIG PLASTIC BUNNY RABBITS, folks!
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/03/23/ap/strange/mainD8GHB2R80.shtml

(AP) The Easter Bunny has been sent packing at St. Paul City Hall.

A toy rabbit, pastel-colored eggs and a sign with the words "Happy Easter" were removed from the lobby of the City Council offices, because of concerns they might offend non-Christians.

A council secretary had put up the decorations. They were not bought with city money.

St. Paul's human rights director, Tyrone Terrill, asked that the decorations be removed, saying they could be offensive to non-Christians.

But City Council member Dave Thune says removing the decorations went too far, and he wonders why they can't celebrate spring with "bunnies and fake grass."

Mr. Thune has a point. Just get rid of the two religious words and leave the kid-friendly fluff there?

And why are people sensitive to the most menial of stuff anyway? Afterlife or not, it's amazing how more people don't mind offshoring than they do a piddling gaudily-garish pre-baked hasenpfeffer!! x(

Sheesh. The way the corporations have fucked with easter, it's not about Jesus dripping from a Cross then Ressurecting anymore. It's about coloring unborn chicken eggs, getting fat from eating chocolate, and buying anything that's pastel-colored in the shape of a cute farm animal. :eyes:

2. It was never about your Jesus myth either...
Easter traditions have PAGAN roots and are intended to celebrate PROCREATION and the renewal of seasons, not some bullshit story about rising from the dead.

Easter, as with all other major holidays, was adapted by Xtianity to surplant the earlier meaning and cover-up the original intent. It is nothing more than an annual PROPAGANDA event meant to reinforce belief.

9. My question is:
were there ever any complaints? What you posted doesn't say there were. I think it might have been a manufactured incident to show how Christians are "persecuted" in this country.

Funniest bit of all is that the rabbit and eggs are pagan fertility symbols, and the very word "Easter" is, if memory serves, the name of a pagan Goddess.
