Its hard to believe that Dafur gets virtually ZERO media coverage while the murder of a white minister in TN is dominating CNN.

3. Darfur yeah
We need to get involved there, seriously after Rwanda I thought people realized how grave a mistake indifference can be. The issue of the Sudan and Darfur is something that isn't a political one, it's about human beings. I believe Senator and now Governor Corzine of New Jersey had a measure in the senate about it.

8. I don't think
that most people even know about Rwanda! I had people see Hotel Rwanda and were stunned that it was a true story, they swore they did not know about it when it happened. Of course, these same people can tell you what Paris Hilton is wearing on any given day, but world affairs they care nothing about.

10. Hotel Rwanda was such a great film
Did you know that Don Cheadle is part of Save Darfur? Its because of my background being descended from oppressed people that makes me feel this way. What is Paris Hilton wearing today? Yeah world affairs are very important, what's going on in Belarus, North Korea, and other countries is a crock too. We need to promote human rights around the world, the US is the most powerful and influential nation i nthe world and we should promote human rights.

13. It actually upset me more than Schindler's List
Because we knew the evils of indifference from the Holocaust and then we turned a blind eye to what happened there. We can't make the same mistake in Sudan. I sincerely feel after all the reading Ive done on genocide that indifference is possibly the worst sin.

16. "Sometimes in April" gives a different look at Rwanda, powerful
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0400063/
Watch this one also. It is a good accompiament to Hotel Rwanda, same story, bit of the same stuff and people but also much different. Hotel Rwanda got me interested in seeing more to figure it all out. Sometimes in April got stuck in my head and dreams. I remember when it happened and was confused by what the news said, and didn't say. Couldn't figure it out then. I still can't.

19. I have not seen Rwanda, but Schindler's List
shook me to the core. I knew of course, that it was based on reality, but seeing it just brought it home. I will rent Rwanda. CNN wasted almost a whole hour just waiting for a press conference on the minister's death only to find out nothing. I am not sure if there are not more ill-informed people than uninformed. Darfur and the Sudan should never have happened. But it will continue. BushCo. just gives lip service. We just never learn.

15. Thanks
I feel its our responsiblity as Americans to oppose tyranny and genocide our nation has the power and influence and secondly many of us are descended from peoples who suffered, I know that my Irish ancestors suffered when it was ruled by Britain, that my Eastern European relatives suffered under the Austro-Hungarian empire, then the Nazis, and then the Soviets.

4. Silly maveric
There are no white, pious, conservative, middle class men getting killed in Darfur! :sarcasm:

Heartbreaking that there is no coverage! I am sure the great majority of AmeriKans don't know where Darfur is or what is happening there.

14. Actually, I think there's another message in this story.
I understand you want Darfur to be more in the media, but it's not a NEW story, and this one is.

The point I think you're missing is that this wife who has confessed to killing her husband is not only white, but a "devout Christian" from TN! I think it's important to make headlines out of that, because the Christians sure made a lot of noise out of the evils of the poor blacks in La.

I don't know if they'll get it or not, but they should realize they should check inside their own house before they throw rocks at everyone else.

17. Rick Sanchez - National Fool
Hopefully Jon Stewart was rolling tape on this today...Sanchez can't resist chasing the ambulence...going for the real dirt. When he grows up, he wants to be Rita Cosby!

From the moron who showed us that getting tazered hurt...he's already figured out this had to be some kind of sexual thing...but, of course we're not being told. Surely in his mind there's all sorts of kinky things flying around...and if he can be the one to expose it, he'll be famous.

Sheesh...

As posted elsewhere...I suspect we're going to hear another sad tale of abuse and dark family secrets all played out for national amusement and corporate media profit.
