6. It may very well be

I just found it funny when they basically cut away from a local murder case with "hold on, some lost whites have been found!"

7. Link to story (with updated info about arrest warrants).
http://www.katu.com/stories/84436.html

ASHLAND, Ore. - Arizona authorities have issued a warrant on drug-related charges for two of the six people rescued from a snowbound motor home this week, a newspaper reported Friday.
The Ashland Daily Tidings said the arrest warrant was issued after Arizona authorities saw TV coverage of the rescue of Elbert Higginbotham, his wife Becky, and the four others - Becky Higginbotham's son, his wife and their two children.

The six set out in Higginbotham's motor home from Ashland on March 4 and were missing until they were found stranded on a back road in the Coast Range on Tuesday.

The Higginbothams are from Arizona.

12. yeah, I think the news value of this story is the meth angle
Edited on Fri Mar-24-06 04:35 PM by renate
The family was found several days ago after more than two weeks of being stranded in the snow. Yay! An innocent family is saved from death! A nice warm (no pun intended) fuzzy news story. Turns out the dad was wanted on meth charges. So, the story becomes a little less warm and fuzzy but also a little more juicy.

On edit: whoops--when I heard it on the radio this morning, it was just the dad who was wanted for meth. Guess it's the mom too. Poor little kids.

14. OMG, you're right!
WOW.
That'll teach me to make assumptions--I just saw that the warrants were for a guy and his wife and figured it HAD to be the parents. Grandparents make cookies, not meth, for heaven's sake!
Thanks for the correction!

15. Hell, I had to read the article twice to figure it out.
I made the same assumptions.

I'm pretty sure *my* inlaws are baking cookies in their kitchen.
