I heard this last week but couldn't find a source for it-the answer back for Bush's lies about Iraq troop readiness

6. It took 16 weeks to train me to be a marine.

12 weeks boot camp. 4 weeks Infantry training. Unless things have changed drastically over the last 45 years since I stupidly joined up, I imagine they're still churning out killers in San Diego and Parris Island in similar time.

Seems like the idiots running the show could do as well in Iraq.

It's understandable if you have trouble with it. I watched the Pentagon briefing at the time they were talking about it, with Rumsfeld waving his hands in the air, but basically, it has to do with how much US troop involvement the Iraqis have. Level 1 means they can act independently. Bush has lied in the past when he has tried to imply that we had EIGHTY battalions that could do that-the first time I heard him say that was the day after the Pentagon briefing where it was spelled out that there was only..... ONE.

And now there's ZERO.
