What are the consequences of raising min. wage/ ENFORCING fair pay rates?
Or even outlawing outsourcing?

Will we suddenly see the price of everything going up?

Will there be a large amount of companies going bankrupt?

Or will things all equal out because of less illegal citizens needing social services?

What do you all think?

1. My little bruised brain says it would be good for the country all around
a living wage would allow people to buy things, things they would like to have and that they would take a lot of pride in, with pride comes strength. I was born right after ww2 to a poor rural family, we didn't even get electricity in our neck of the woods until I was 5 years old. The toys I had as a kid were throw aways and hand me downs until I started building them myself as my bro's and sis's were already doing. I tell you right up its not pleasant being poor and looked down upon and I guess that is why my whole family still too today love all people small and smaller. Thats also why I never have to hire someone to do something for me because out of necessity I learned about how it all works at an early age. So I say raise the wages and let people be proud of themselves.

2. If done right, you'd see exactly what happened under Clinton in the 90's
Great economic times, low unemployment, etc.

3. Wasn't the minimum wage a living wage at one point?
Even if it wasn't, it still needs to keep up with inflation, otherwise we may as well not even have one. The point is to provide a basic standard of living for people, and since it doesn't do that, it needs to be raised.

4. When the cost of utilities and gas are going out the
window and your salary is the same, you will go broke just trying to live... It's a load of crap...

5. Responses...
"Or even outlawing outsourcing"

I'm not sure how this is possible.

"Will we suddenly see the price of everything going up?"

Possibly at first, then beccase of the increased buying power of a large group this would eventaully balance out.

"Will there be a large amount of companies going bankrupt?"

The more likely scenario at first is layoffs.

"Or will things all equal out because of less illegal citizens needing social services?"

Possibly though better paying jobs could be more attractive and could lead to more immigration. I think that one involves too much crystal ball work.
