Did Bush invade Iraq in order to put the "War" in War On Terror?
Without a real, visible on going, entrenched war in Iraq, the Bush administration would have a much tougher time justifying that we are "at war" 4 years after 9/11. This is key in large part because of the Constitutional Power grab that is on going, based specifically upon the notion that the President has nearly "unlimited" powers during a time of war.

With the WoT not being a run-of-the-mill type "war", the administration knew that it needed some beef to the war claims for people to put up with such a power grab.

Am I the only one thinking this?

1. Plus, it ensured his re-election in '04 - "can't change presidents in the
middle of the war" or the other one I heard from a bush voter "bush needs to clean up the mess he made in iraq"
