Has Latin America ever had such a unifying figure?

At political rallies, his visage is held aloft as a beacon to regional independence and self-determination. He's helped forge new trade partnerships to spur economic growth and alleviate poverty. And his leadership has fanned a gale-force electoral trend that's sweeping the hemisphere to topple one pro-Washington government after the next.

Who is this grand inductor of Latin American leftism? Venezuelan fireball Hugo Chavez? Blue-collar Brazilian Lula Ignacio da Silva? Bolivia's coca-farmer-cum-president, Evo Morales?

¡Epa! It's George W. Bush, the accidental revolutionary.

What can I say? The truth is the truth.....

and they should know that they aren't getting out of it.

Maybe they just are created the fire for the venom on the radio.

The US always likes to think that everything is because of them, and this is simply not the case.

The people in the region have not voted against the US... they are voting against politics-as-usual in the region, politics that only benefits very few, usually those who are involved with the political parties, donors, etc. These traditional politicians have usually supported the US and neoliberalism, but that's because it benefits THEM as well. The people in Latin America are taking back their governments and tossing out US shills, not to punish the US or George W. Bush, but because the ruling class has not taken any measures to help people who need it the most.
