Bay Buchanan: ‘It Is Very Realistic’ To Deport All 11 Million Undocumented Immigrants

Today on CBS’s Early Show, Bay Buchanan — right-wing strategist and sister of Pat Buchanan — argued that the government can, and should, deport all the undocumented workers in the United States.

Transcript:

BUCHANAN: Every guest worker program in the history of this country and any other country around the world has always turned into amnesty. He says it’s impossible to move these people out. It is certainly not impossible. It is very realistic. We should absolutely stand up to the law and let people come through legal channels, but in no way reward them for illegal behavior.

But as Gov. Bill Richardson (D-NM) later points out, it is “unrealistic to deport” 11 million people, many of whom are already paying U.S. taxes. A 2005 American Progress study found that it would cost at least $206 billion over five years to deport all undocumented workers. The annual $41.2 billion cost exceeds the entire FY06 budget for the Department of Homeland Security.

1. It’s “very realistic,” if...
you want to round people up and put them on trains, Nazi-style.

She's a damn fool!

3. The rule of law is SO CONVENIENT when they want to follow the law
otherwise, the law is a minor inconvenience.

Just go on Hispanic TV and radio and tell them to get themselves down to the bus station. Oh, and tell them to take the kids but leave the pets at home.

5. And then after spending billions and billions to deport, let's waste
billions and billions to try to get them out again after they come back. Do these people have brains? Give Bay a flute and let her Pied Piper them away. I'd pay to watch her dance play and with a flute on the Mexican border.

They couldn't even round up a few hundred thousand people in New Orleans to get them out of there before Katrina.

7. I wonder how the corporations are feeling about her statement...
It's unrealistic to deport 11 million people when they will be back into the country in less than a week.

The US has to force Mexico and other Latin American Countries to start taking responsibility and create industries that will pay their citizens...

8. What a nutjob.
How, without creating an even more controlling fascist state, do you even detect an illegal from a legal citizen? Do you just start rounding up everyone who "looks" illegal?

And once you have them "rounded up", how do you get them back to wherever they came from? Can you just dump them in Mexico? What about the Guatemalans, Cubans, Venezuelans, Chileans - do we have to send them all the way back? Can't imagine Mexico would appreciate our flooding them with non-citizens.

Realistic my ass.

23. Well, really . . .
You have these people who spout off this crap, when even *I* - with NO background in immigration or law or anything even vaguely related to it - can see the myriad problems in 30 seconds. It's just infuriating! AAAARRRHGHGHGHGHG!

9. A few years ago, Bay was in a restaurant in VA
Managed by one of my best friends. Being a news hound, he recognized her immediately. He had the biggest urge to tell her (paraphrasing here): "By the way, you hatemongering sow, did you realize that the chicken rotisserie meal you just purchased was cooked by three cousins from the same village in El Salvador, ordered from a teenager who was born in Nigeria, in one of the most gay-friendly restaurant chains in the DC area, in a store managed by a gay man whose assistant manager is an first-generation immigrant from Ireland? Have a nice day!"

10. OK Bay you bitch .... you start
You personally deport EVERY "illegal" you come in contact to on daily basis.

Like the busboy the clears the plates after you shovel food in the cess pool of mouth of yours.

How about the folks at the car wash that clean that gas sucking pile of shit you haul your ass round town?

Maybe it's the young woman that digs out the crud out of those skanky looking things you call toe nails?

Come on Bay, step up.

16. But what about the taxes NOT being paid on decent wage-jobs for
Americans? And what about all those tax breaks given to the wealthy? If you want to increase the tax base, re-instate the taxes on the corporate pigs and their wealtlhy stockholders.

25. I'm not even sure we need to increase the tax base.
If we'd just stop the no-bid contracts, the lack of accounting on BILLIONs of dollars flown to Iraq, the war profiteering, the war itself - heck, if the Dems can stop all this, we might actually be able to balance the budget WITHOUT a tax increase after all!

.." Deport All 11 Million Undocumented Immigrants"..

I like the truth in the upper post about not being able to get Katrina victims out..I just fear that, considering the damn mess we're in with Iraq, the Bush cabal should NOT be making ANY MORE Decisions concerning anyone else's life..EVER AGAIN!
Nov 2006 is taking a long time to get here..Can't imagime the damage yet to come from heir Bush.

I beg for mercy in November..for our Nation, our planet Earth and for humankind.

----
Bay's purpose for her overpaid appearance is what? Blabber is easy, Just how do you propose this come about Bay? Shut Up until you get the details worked out, then come back.
Your opinion is moot.

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:

I think Bay should learn what America is all about.....

22. Who would mow your lawn, Bay?
Let's just be conservative here, and say that hearings, jail costs, transportation, etc. costs an average of $5,000 per person. That's, um, $60 billion right there. Then count in all the businesses that would fail instantly with no help. Our entire agricultural sector would crash and burn. The entire hospitality industry would have to shut down. All meat processors would close instantly.

These people should be kept away from scissors and other sharp objects.

31. SHE and her asshole brother should be deported!
:grr:

Man, I hope the Democrats are fighting this crap in Congress! What a bunch of hateful people the repukes are.

My paper boy/MAN is an Hispanic immigrant (speaks very little English). I have to say he's THE WORLDS BEST PAPER DELIVERY MAN! He brings my paper to my front door and lays it right on my step. He has never missed a day of delivery...ever. If it's raining or snowing he puts the paper in a plastic bag and puts it INSIDE my screen door. He's just wonderful.

The people the asshole repukes want to deport are a very hard working people. My landscaper is an Hispanic immigrant and the man who remodeled my basement is too. They NEVER missed work, they did what they were hired to do and did it FAST and WELL. That's more than I can say for American contractors who won't even return a damn phone call after you call and leave message after message after message.:grr:

I say LEAVE THE IMMIGRANTS ALONE.
