Thank you DU Moderators - I so almost screwed up -
Here is the thing - this question gets decided this summer.

I think the army is doing all it can to persuede those kids - and reality is closing in from all sides - They really are trying, I know. It is a fact and a testiment to the ability of the army to lie - they do that for a living, you know.

The problem they have is those kids have parents and grandparents that fought wars that mattered and they know the consequences of the choice about going to war. There is a great quote from the PBS series about WWII, a fighter pilot saying that he went to war so a few generations wouldn't have to - I know it is representative of a generation of true heros. I knew some of those guys.

I spent six years of my life writting a book because of that quote - really.

There isn't going to be any net draw down in the summer - of soldiers - no matter the wishes of reps running for reelection - Not possible. But God help those kids this summer, as they try anyway to accomplish the political and ignore the reality.

Joe

2. I put my real email address in a copy-paiste response -
and the moderators caught it and notified me in seconds.

So - I think they are VERY good.

And I think we are lucky to have them here looking over our shoulder, so to speak.

Maybe I suck at internet posting - probably true - but how great to have "angels" on our shoulders.

Joe

3. The reason I asked...
is because I was wondering if you did the same thing I did recently: Spout off about this administration a little too harshly. My name was removed by the moderator (first time), probably for my protection as well as DU's, & I was, frankly, relieved they did.

They most certainly are on the ball.

Sure don't want one of these on my front door:

6. It is cool -
Nothing you could say that would bother me.

The truth is - that you are here now - speaks more to me anyway -

Good for you guy,

Joe

4. More likely a caring DUer
Not that the mods aren't caring DUers, because they are, but they can't be everywhere at once and depend on us to help guide their hands.

5. Whoever they are - they did good by me.
And when someone helps me I know how to say thankyou.

By the way Lone Star - what happened to Texas - my third favorite state - these guys wouldn't tolerate this "president" - not the Texas I know.

I WANT TEXAS BACK, TOO.

Those are good, decent people there - they sure don't belong with South Carolina.

Hey Lone Star - I do hope all is wll with you, I really do,

Joe

7. Texas was a test state for the current GOP
They practiced their BS lies on us and when they had it down they moved on (and up) to the rest of the US.

I knew when Rove got away with what he did to Ann Richardson they were just going to use us as a spring board. Sadly, it turned out to be correct.
