5. No - Repugs have been calling for his resignation for a while now.
They feel the White House needed to shake things up a bit, mainly because they're getting their asses handed to them lately and new blood is needed.

Doesn't matter much what the WaPo was told: it's a smokescreen. Rove has gotten more skillful with time--don't expect anything of real value here--it's all BS.
