Rumor Mill: Scotty, Sec'y Snow, Dan Bartlett to Resign !

White House Rumor-Mongering: Waiting for the Other Shoe(s) To Drop
Yesterday, after Andrew Card’s resignation was announced, we speculated that Treasury Secretary John W. Snow might be the next Administration official to step down. A reader offered this support for the gossip: “I live across the street from Sec’y Snow, and I never see him or his security detail anymore. The guy’s fuckin’ done.”

But Snow’s not the only one who may be on his way out. A Wonkette operative offers up two other names: White House counselor Dan Bartlett, and everyone’s favorite press secretary, Scott McClellan. In terms of timing, look for them to be gone “by the summer.” No word yet on possible replacements for Bartlett or McClellan; “Nicolle Wallace is likely to stay as communications director.”

As for incoming chief of staff Josh Bolten, our source opines that he has his work cut out for him: “What Bolten will find — and he probably already knows — is that the WH is full of supremely talented people who are awful managers of other people.” We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again (because it can’t be said enough): Good luck, Yosh!

4. Heh! You know that only the people who are not as slimy as the
rest, the ones who have an iota of conscience, they are the only ones who will leave.

2. Scottie is supporting his Mommie in the upcoming Texas
election - she's running as an *GASP* Independent, I believe. That might be causing a bit of friction in The White House. Plus, I would imagine even for someone with such low morals and ethics as Scottie, having to deal with Bush day in and day out would take its toll on you.

imagine the stress of being in his position.

11. I'd like to believe that's true
but if mcclellan had any sort of moral compass he would have resigned a long, long time ago. He gets no sympathy from me. He's carrying bush's water on a daily basis, must know that it is polluted, yet continues the job. He crosses swords with journalists who often hit a nerve. mcclellan has zero credibility, no integrity and apparently does not care about right or wrong, good or bad. He's a classic republican of the the 21st century. If he resigns it won't be because he's tired of lying.

15. In the warped mind of republicans and "conservatives"
the press and the media have no credibility with the white house, ergo he can continue being the good guy in his bosses eyes and continue to stay. Even as bad and as evil as he is there has got to be a physically exhausting point that he can't cross.

21. His role is totally worthless. He has neutered every person in
the press with his incessant bullshit. But, even in the brightest press corps moments, he still seems to keep his bullshit in order. He has created a wall, set the boundries and the press has just learned to live with it.

23. hi sweetie ! thanks ! Yes, waiting with bells on for Fitz's indictments
hope it's more than Rove and Hadley ! But, brings back the time last year where the rumors were that he was charging - what 10-12? If it's only one, hope it's rove over hadley. I remember debating this whole subject on DU. How coincidental that both of them "forgot" to turn the email over to Fitz. Many think they created it after the fact....But, others thought that if they did, they would have made it more exculpatory...

19. Who was the eejit who said that Bush may not have experience,
but at least he had the intelligence to surround himself by experienced people?

Can we, next time, vote for someone that we at least KNOW has experience? I mean, did we really vote in a man into the White House who admitted he was clueless? Twice?

22. Yes, I remember thinking how stupid people were that thought he
wasn't too bright, but said that it didn't matter. I asked a repig the other day why he thought, given all the evidence that B** has been a total f%#k up, would people still support him? My friend said that it was because people do not want to admit they were/are wrong. That made so much sense to me. Everyone knows people that hate to admit they are wrong. Takes a big person...

24. "Supremely talented people" MY BIG RED ASS!!!
If these people are "supremely talented" then we're in big fucking trouble! They ARE, however, (1) supremely arrogant; (2) supremely incompetent; (3) supremely crooked, not necessarily in that order.

25. HA ! I like the way they are trying to "drum up" a list of
accomplishments. Pretty slim pickins. I think the top two were that they got two SC judges approved. Like this is some kind of major world-changing initiative.
