I'd rather they come up with a plan to save jobs, healthcare, and reduce our dependance on oil.

2. I think they believe that they have to get people to trust them on
national security before people will listen to them on all the other issues.

3. So rather than accentuate the positive
people would still rather complain. That's nice.

National security is probably the most important issue to the electorate, and the one that the Republicans are planning on running on (again). As Karl Rove has taught us, attacking an opponent's weaknesses isn't enough, one should also attack their strengths. That's exactly what the Democrats did today. Good for them.

I, for one, ain't complaining.

4. I agree with you,
it's hard to believe that voters still think of the admin as strong on National security, but we can't take the chance.

5. Listening to the immigration arguments - I was impressed. They did good.
they done well? They're well done? Anyway, I thought they more than held their own, and did it without pissing off any one. Low key professional and appropriate.

6. I think it will be one topic at a time
Starting with security. I expect to see more "position papers" one by one, adding up to a Dem "doctrine". will be disappointed if I am wrong.
