Democrats Outline 'Real Security' Plan

(CNSNews.com) - Democrat leaders will gather in Washington today, for what they describe as a "major event" -- the unveiling of their "comprehensive" plan to protect America.
They call the plan "Real Security." But some Republicans call it an election-year ploy. Democrats accuse Republicans of talking tough, but they say Republican "incompetence" has made America less safe. "Democrats will offer tough and smart policies to provide the real security that Americans expect and demand," said a press release announcing the policy unveiling.
According to wire reports, Democrats will promise to "eliminate" Osama bin Laden and finish the job in Afghanistan; they will discuss a "responsible redeployment" of U.S. forces from Iraq -- but set no timetable for withdrawal; they will advocate full Iraqi sovereignty; and they will call for port security and alternative energy sources, among other policy recommendations.
"Sound familiar? It should," said Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.) Writing for the National Review Online Wednesday, Cornyn said the Democrats are outlining policy items that the Bush administration and Republican Congress have implemented -- or that Democrats have blocked.
Yeah, it's the kind of snotty shit we'd expect from CNS, but the corporate media coverage won't be all that much different.
