WASHINGTON, March 29 /Christian Wire Service/ -- The Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund will announce its first round of endorsed candidates for the 2006 election cycle at a campaign kick-off event tonight on Capitol Hill. The SBA List Candidate Fund is a connected political action committee of The Susan B. Anthony List, a nationwide network of Americans (over 140,000 members residing in all 50 states) dedicated to mobilizing and advancing pro-life women in politics.

Despite being vastly outspent by abortion rights groups including EMILY’s List, MoveOn.org and Planned Parenthood PAC, the number of winning candidates endorsed by the SBA List Candidate Fund has increased in the past four election cycles. In 2004, SBA won 27 of 35 races with six of the winning candidates defeating pro-abortion candidates heavily backed by EMILY’s List.

“We have every intention of using the 2006 elections to increase the number of pro-life seats in Congress and the number of pro-life women in politics,” said SBA List Candidate Fund president Marjorie Dannenfelser. “In addition to financially backing these candidates, we’ll be running independent expenditure campaigns to mobilize pro-life women voters in several states including Pennsylvania, Florida and Minnesota.”

2. SBA on abortion:
In her writings, Susan B. Anthony occasionally mentioned abortion. Susan B. Anthony opposed abortion which at the time was an unsafe medical procedure for women, endangering their health and life. She blamed men, laws and the "double standard" for driving women to abortion because they had no other options. ("When a woman destroys the life of her unborn child, it is a sign that, by education or circumstances, she has been greatly wronged." 1869) She believed, as did many of the feminists of her era, that only the achievement of women's equality and freedom would end the need for abortion. Anthony used her anti-abortion writings as yet another argument for women's rights.

clearly, these people have got not one frikkin CLUE about her stand and what it represented.

4. Barf! Who's worse, SCHMIDT or Ileana ROS-LEHTINEN?
What a travesty to use SBA's name for this coven. I'm calling to tell them so.

6. So I called, but was NOT prepared...
The person who answered was PERFECT. She PERFECTLY answered on 1 1/2 rings. Was PERFECTLY dictioned and chirrupy and sweet. Totally Stepford. She was PERFECTLY masterful. And I didn't have my ducks in a row. I said that I had seen the list of their endorsements and my call was about the travesty of using the name of SBA for their group. She PERFECTLY said, "Yessss????" I said, "You sound very pleasant, so I won't insult you." She laughed. Luckily poster #2 had passed some homework to me. So I said, "Jean SCHMIDT..." And she said, "What's wrong with her?" I was so flustered I just turned into sL-IMUS and said, "a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE person... and Ileana ROS-LEHTINEN... They are just HORRIBLE!" But, attempting to recover, I said, "I don't know anything about your organization but I suppose the reason you use ANTHONY's name is that she wrote some things against abortion." She said it was. I said, "Well, the REASON she did was that AT THAT TIME she said the lack of women's rights drove them to it as a desperate choice." I missed saying the part about the crudeness of those times. Before she could debate me (and win), I said, "But anyway, it is a TRAVESTY for you to use her name." Sorry, peeps, this time I was just not prepared.

9. From what I've read, women weren't driven to it as a choice
but rather driven by their husband's demands it be done. Women had NO choice. As I understood it, that was Anthony's point: women should have the right to choose things that affect their lives equal to a man's right to make choices.

5. These women would have vilified Susan B. Anthony
during her lifetime.
The hypocrisy of the right is monumental. Stunning. This reminds me of their love for Condi. It's not real. It's show. "See...we're not bigots! We love a BLACK WOMAN!" Meanwhile, back in the real world, they're against feminism, equal rights, and civil rights.
But, hey, as long as they hold Condi up as their sole "get out of bigotry free" card, they can feel OK about themselves.
They use these ruses all the time.
It works on hate radio. But not with folks with IQs about room temperature.
