Now, if the media would follow up the McCloy story with mine safety or lack thereof) stories and the link between Bush policies and mine disasters and deaths.
I'm coming to the conclusion that our media are fundamentally lazy. I imagine their thought processes went something like this:
Reading the press release from the hospital that was treating McCloy and interviewing someone from his family? Easy.
Investigative reporting on the failures of the Bush administration and the cozy relationship between coal mining corporations and the people who are supposed to inspect their mines? Hard.
