A Newsweek article gave credit to Kos, wasn't it one of our posters that caught this? Do we have to correct this story too?

1. I believe it did originate @ a DKOS diary

but DU was definitely part of the initiative.

4. My reading was that the DKos poster was the first to bring attention...
to the photo. But I don't think it matters that much. The important thing is we got Kaloogian's lie splattered across the MSM.

6. It was kpete who posted it here,
referring to DailyKos. But I think we came up with Turkey first, and Istanbul. I'm not sure, though since I was only looking at DU the first time I saw it and looking for reference pictures from Turkey.

7. Here's the original post at KOS:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/3/28/152755/284

It was posted on Tuesday by AnthonyLA.

The photo of the same street Kaloogian said was Baghdad was posted by DKOSer jem6x:

8. A daily kos poster posed the question and another dkos poster
found the photo that torpedoed Kaloogian's boat. They deserve much of the credit. DU can be proud for the part it played, but we can't claim credit for more than dissecting the shit out of that phony photo.
