Al Franken & Ed Schultz: If Iraqis don't it together, we'll leave
It's odd to me that both are selling this point, and I wonder if this is some democratic strategy.

On the one hand, it at least differentiates Democrats from Bush who says violence is reason to stay.

More importantly though, it is completely divorced from reality. Poll after poll have shown that Iraqis want us to leave, and a recent Brit Ministry of Defense poll found that less than one percent of Iraqis felt safer because we're there. Therefore, saying we will leave is not a threat.

Are these guys uninformed, selling something or what?

2. Doesn't this relate to a recent comment from the * administration --
That the Iraqi gov't better get it together fast because US public support is waning...

Sorry, no ref...

3. You go ED!!! How about: "Since they asked us to leave, we're leaving"
Every poll conducted says they want us to leave. The polls also show a majority, just over 50%, of Iraqis saying they support suicide bombings against our soldiers. Time to bid adieu!

Keep pounding them ED!

4. The US isn't going to leave Iraq. They didn't do all this just to walk
away. They will be there for the next 50 years.

6. There is the possibility if we leave that Saddam might
beat the system and regain power. But maybe that's karma punishing the Bush administration for doing the unthinkable and raiding a country we had previously disarmed.

8. A more likely possibility would be that Iraq will unite with Iran
That will probably eventually happen anyway
