When will the frigging DUMB-ASS learn to say "nuclear"?
Edited on Fri Mar-31-06 04:06 PM by npincus
...instead of NU-CU-LAR.

I just heard a soundbite of a statement he made today, and said THE 'N' WORD 3 times in a matter of seconds! I don't think I can take it anymore.

What a DISGRACE.

1. Maybe his brother can loan him a piece of his "educational" software.
Assholes...the lot of them.

2. Nah, he's just playing to his base . . .
The no-opposable-thumb crowd cums in its collective jeans when Georgie shows 'em he ain't no lily-livered elitist.

It's homey, ya know?

3. Never - pretty soon we'll all be saying it
and the dictionary will change its pronounciation, just like it did with "coupon".

7. Nevah!
I refuse to mispronounce that word. But I do agree that dictionaries will change to have (p)Resident Jackass' version included as an alternate pronunciation. Ugh.

15. Also, if he started pronouncing it correctly, it would be an admission
that he had been pronouncing it incorrectly all along and you know he'll NEVER admit he was wrong. NEVER.

4. I think it's a deliberate attempt
to NOT sound like an intellectual "Elitist". Trying not to alienate the lowest common denominator in his base...
Just my HO.

10. I agree
it's all part of his carefully crafted folksy down-home manner. What, ya'll don't find it endearing and gosh-darn cute?!

5. Noam Chomsky thinks he does it on purpose ....
Chomsky believes that "W" is a brand that was created by the same people who sell us toothpaste. And that his handlers have carefully crafted a "president just like the average guy" because that would sell. Chomsky says that the pronunciation "nu-cu-lar" and such words as "misunderestimate" and other garbled speech are carefully crafted to appeal to Joe Six Pack.

The reason for this is two-fold, to appeal to the less than average American -- and to disguise the fact that this guy is going for king/dictator of the country. If you think he's an idiot, you would never suspect that he's a diabolical, Macchiavellian, evil-doer planning the demise of democracy whilst he chuckles.

8. You know, I've heard this many times...
The whole he's an evil genius schtick. I just don't buy it.

Honestly, do you think he's anything short of a figurehead at this point? You wouldn't know who * was if Cheney had better people skills.

6. What's worse, now I have to stop and think whenever I use the word
I have to work my way from "nucleus" to "nuclear" to ensure that I'm saying it correctly.

16. I just tell people this:
"It's NUCLEAR, because it's new and it's clear."

Usually works.

9. When I mentioned this in an argument with a RWer
he responded "It's because of his Texan accent!"

These people have no brain. Seriously.

13. Not true
At least not in my experience. I know that Texas accents vary, but I've not found bush's particular one in a single other Texan.

Everyone I know with a Texas accent says Nu-CLEER.

14. People who think that Jr. is a stereotypical Texan are nuts.
He stands alone as what he is .... whatever he is. He's a product of growing up in New England as much or more than Texas. He's a Yale boy. And a New England prep school yell leader.

For the last time, please .... he's not like any Texas guy. He's Karl Rove's Frankenstein monster at this point. Bushenstein!
