TIME POLL* sank to 37% in the poll-a new low-&-79% Favor Guest Worker Prog
Edited on Fri Mar-31-06 04:52 PM by kpete
While the President's position on illegal immigration is clearly resonating with many voters, it hasn't helped his sagging approval ratings. They sank to 37% in the poll, a new low.

New Poll: Americans Favor a Guest Worker Plan
79% say illegal immigrants should have the chance to work here, but most want tougher enforcement too

1. That's actually in the high end of current polls.
But of course Crime/Warner always is.

2. All these poll numbers are confusing
I think we need a mean of all the ratings.

4. It's not lower than CBS, but it's the lowest he's been in the Time poll.

5. Would Americans favor a guest worker program if it is used
to drive down their own wages? Company X says "If you don't like what we pay you, we'll just get some guest workers to do it".

6. Guest Worker Plan DOES NOT EQUAL "should have a chance to work here"

7. The link didn't
have the actual wording of the poll. Did the poll point out that allowing those here to stay was only part of the "guest worker program" and that additional work visas would be available for labor needed to fill the jobs that the new "legal residents" might or might not be willing to do.
