Big Tony Moscatiello implicates Abramoff partner in murder
Edited on Sat Dec-31-05 02:33 PM by SOS
The Sun-Sentinel in Miami has an excellent article on Abramoff in today's edition (December 31).
This article has great detail on the entire Abramoff story and it's well worth reading.
Check this out:

"On Feb. 6, 2001, Boulis, 51, was shot to death in his car in Fort Lauderdale. This past September, three men who had worked for Kidan were charged in Boulis' murder. One of them, Anthony "Big Tony" Moscatiello, a known associate John Gotti, told detectives one of his co-defendant's said Kidan ordered the hit on Boulis. Kidan, whose lawyer denies that allegation, may reply himself from the stand. Two weeks ago he pleaded guilty in the SunCruz case and agreed to become a cooperating witness. It's unknown yet if state prosecutors will use him as a witness in the Boulis murder case. Federal prosecutors plan to have him testify against Abramoff if necessary."

Questions remain to be definitively answered - Who hired Moscatiello to kill Boulis? And why did Kidan and Abramoff pay Big Tony $250,000 at the time of the murder? Kidan and Abramoff claim the money was for "catering", but no food was delivered.

"Abramoff plea deal could expose officials"

2. Mr. Abramoff certainly had
a wide circle of interesting acquaintances, didn't he?

May he bring the whole freaking cabal down.

3. When I first heard of the hit on Gus Boulis,
I joked something like, "Wouldn't it be something if Tom DeLay was involved?"

Now it's looking more and more like he really was!

4. I'd be very surprised if Kidan's lawyer lets him testify
it's much more likely that they're fishing behind the scenes for a deal, possibly implicating Ney and Tom Delay....

Worth noting that Kidan has already pled guilty to defrauding Boulis...which gives him and Abramoff a motive back then to have Gus whacked....

"Adam R. Kidan, who had entered a plea of not guilty after he was indicted in August, said he and his onetime partner defrauded lenders of $60 million five years ago by faking a $23-million wire transfer to get financing to buy the SunCruz Casinos fleet. Abramoff pleaded not guilty in August to a six-count federal fraud and conspiracy indictment stemming from his role in the purchase.
"Did you intentionally do what the government says you did in this case?" U.S. District Judge Paul C. Huck asked Kidan, 41, on Thursday.
"Yes, your honor," Kidan said. When asked what revised plea he wanted to enter, the New Yorker said, "guilty, your honor.""

5. The memme should be this is like an episode of the Sopranos...
I believe the plot twist that involved Tony's people ripping off taxpayers in concert with local politicos in the HUD scam was meant to diminish the perception that Soprano crimes were all vice related and of no concern to average Americans.
