AK Steel Reaches Tentative Union Deal
Associated Press 06.29.07, 12:06 PM ET

Steel products producer AK Steel Holding Corp. said Friday it reached a tentative agreement for a new labor contract with the United Auto Workers, a union representing about 190 employees at a Rockport, Indiana plant.

The agreement is expected to be voted on by local union members within a week, the company said.

The current contract will expire Sept. 30. The new contract, if ratified, will run from Aug. 1 to Sept. 30, 2013.

Shares rose 85 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $37.82 in midday trading.
