For those of you who have made it this far, I would like to remind you- or perhaps enlighten you- about the massive lengths that business has gone to in order to crush worker rights.

The Mohawk Valley Formula

In short, rather than control the masses through violence, there was a need to control workers minds so as to avoid the need for violence. Thus, the MVF was created. Have a look-

Here is the text- more at link:

First: When a strike is threatened, label the union leaders as "agitators" to discredit them with the public and their own followers. Conduct balloting under the foremen to ascertain the strength of the union and to make possible misrepresentation of the strikers as a small minority. Exert economic pressure through threats to move the plant, align bankers, real estate owners and businessmen into a "Citizens' Committee."

Second: Raise high the banner of "law and order", thereby causing the community to mass legal and police weapons against imagined violence and to forget that employees have equal right with others in the community.

Third: Call a "mass meeting" to coordinate public sentiment against the strike and strengthen the Citizens' Committee.
Fourth: Form a large police force to intimidate the strikers and exert a psychological effect. Utilize local police, state police, vigilantes and special deputies chosen, if possible, from other neighborhoods.

This is no small thing. Understand the magnitude of what we are up against, and how well prepared business is to destroy and demoralize the workforce in pursuit of profit.

They are obviously planning and organizing on their side. What are we doing?

2. The link timed out for me too

From what I did see in your post, I'd like to read more. To answer your question, we are fighting tooth and nail with the Administration and the NLRB.

4. My question was rhetorical.
I am only trying to suggest that we all need to be keenly aware that this is a real war; Something to be taken very seriously, as the other side has been taking it deadly seriously for the last 100+ years.

The MVF was formulated in 1937. /2 cents/
