Support Workers at American Eagle Contractor Factory in Puebla, Mexico. E action

http://action.unitehere.org/campaign/vaquerosnavarra?rk=dpq7%2d4s1vwg8E

Workers at the Vaqueros Navarra blue jean factory in Tehuacan, Puebla, Mexico who are fighting for the right to be represented by an independent, democratic union are being harassed, illegally dismissed, pressured to sign resignation letters, and threatened with a factory closure. A number of the illegally fired workers have filed complaints for unjust dismissal, but the local labor authorities are not moving their cases. Meanwhile, the company intimidates and dismisses more workers - over 50 in the last week.

American Eagle Outfitters is a client of Vaqueros Navarra and this week signed on to a letter to Puebla state labor authorities urging them to allow workers to freely choose a union. Workers are calling on American Eagle and the other brands to keep the pressure on to stop the flagrant violations of freedom of association that are taking place. They are also asking supporters to contact the Puebla state government and urge them to support a fair process.

Take Action Today
Please send a letter calling on Puebla State Governor, Mario Marín Torres, to intervene in the case to ensure that all workers fired for exercising their right to freedom of association are immediately reinstated and that workers have the right to be represented by the union of their choice without employer or government interference.
