OKLAHOMA CITY -- About 1,000 union workers and family members cheered Friday night as Democratic presidential contender John Edwards promised to fight for them and against special interests in Washington.
Edwards, in his second trip to Oklahoma in a week, said he was proud that he had "never taken a dime from a Washington lobbyist or a special interest group."

He said the country will never have universal health care until it has a president who will stand up to drug companies and insurance companies.
The candidate, who was greeted by chants of "John, John, John," took digs at the front-runners in the race -- Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
Without mentioning her by name, he chided Clinton for taking contributions from Washington special interests, and he criticized Obama for recently referring to Ronald Reagan as bringing change to the country.
