In the interview room at the SAGs, Donna Freydkin reports, winner Julie Christie (Away From Her) explained why she spoke out for unions during the show. "All unions are important," she said. "Think of the fight to form unions. Without them, we wouldn't have anyone to represent our injustices."
As for winning: "I'm very happy to get it. The funny thing is, if I hadn't got it, I'd be almost equally happy. It's very nice." But she's not even thinking about the Oscars (she's up for one of those, too), "We don't even know if it's going to happen."
