Help for Sweden

My wife and I are traveling to Sweden in May.

I need
1- some hotel recommendations for Stockholm. We prefer B&Bs or hotels with
local "character" - we really enjoy the older, more established hotels
as opposed to chains
2 - same for Kalmar
3 - same for points in-between

What sights should we not miss for travel between Stockholm and Kalmar?
