Also enjoy this excellent article about Obama: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/cenk-uygur/six-degrees-of-barack-oba_b_99110.html

PS---Keep in mind you can always watch The Young Turks 24 hours a day at www.theyoungturks.com . The streaming video/audio means you can minimize the window and surf the net or post at DU while you hear Cenk break down the latest politics.

And you can also join the chat while the show is on live from 3-5pm EST, and during the post game show (where in addition to politics, many other less serious topics are discussed) from 5-7pm EST.

2. Her supporters are enraged by that suggestion
And in fairness, we obviously can't really know.

Of course if you look at her campaign tactics and words, it's not nearly as outrageous an idea as some would like to think.

4. If that's her idea, she can forget about it
If Obama loses to McCain in November, she will be blamed. She's finished in presidential politics.

10. That's such a lame response
It completely glosses over the fact that Hillary's disgusting GOP style tactics are hurting the likely Dem nominee, which is something that should concern ALL OF US, including her supporters.

You know, many of the things she's said will also hurt her in the general election. For example, when she (and Bill) praises McCain for his experience and patriotism. You better believe those words (said in many ways on several occasions) will be used against her if she ruins Obama enough to sway the remaining super-delegates.

14. I agree that the GOP style tactics are disgusting but how many elections have the Repukes won?
More than us, it's time that we as democrats starting playing the game as they do...if not we will lose again...this is again, politics...all is fair...and the repbulicans will attempt to destroy any nominee we put forth...we better get ready for it now..

As far as you point about the praises for McCain...I too praise a man that spent 5 years as a POW...defending our Country...as for his policies...he's a carbon copy of Bush...and I haven't heard the Clintons praise McCain's policies...

15. There's a difference between using these tactics against a republican
and using them within the party against the person who is incredibly likely to be the Dem nominee in November.

Every dollar Hillary spends attacking Obama is another dollar in McCain's pocket. Every dollar Obama spends defending himself from Hillary is a dollar he could've spent attacking McCain.

34. There is HELPFUL politics and then there is HURTFUL politics
Hillary's tactics are more than hurtful, they are vindictive. There is so much at stake. If Obama loses narrowly in November and Hillary's scathing sound bytes are given credit for the outcome, her standing with the Democratic party would be zilch -- just forget about 2012. Hillary plays the Rev. Wright race card freely and frequently. Has Obama played a subliminal sexist card about the role of women in politics, in order to sway voters who might harbor prejudice? No, he certainly hasn't because he has too much class, and he is not about playing one group of citizens against another. Politics is not a generic term for "anything goes". It can be honest and constructive, or deceitful and ultimately destructive. Unfortunately, Hillary's brand has been more of the latter.

11. this has been my theory for months now.
it's too perfect, cause we all know that mccain will not be able to win a second term if elected once. it won't take long for all the duped "oh he's not a third bush term" voters to see that, hey he really is mcsame. all she'll need to do is keep destroying her primary competition during the "offseason" so that there's no one left when she's ready to run again in four years.

oh and also, :puke:

7. I believe if HRC can not win then she does not want another one to win either
I do believe she is looking forward to 2012 as well.
Otherwise looking at it logically why is she bashing on Obama so badly, lying to make hits on him,
she has pulled out the Rove Playbook. Why do all this if that is not the reason. She has put
herself out there into an ugly campaign so she must pay the piper for it now.

I for one will never ever vote for the likes of her, the Democratic Party must be better then her.

Edited on Wed Apr-30-08 09:20 PM by Ned_Devine
In all fairness to Yoko Ono, the Beatles were probably going to break up any way. They had been playing together since they were teens. What she is doing os beyond destructive. I'm out of adjectives for her actions

23. The fact that she happily went on O'Reilly's show (you know, Bill O'Reilly)
Edited on Wed Apr-30-08 11:50 PM by ihavenobias
and knocked his anti-Obama softballs out of the park (which delighted the entire Fox News network, viewing audience and of course, the McCain campaign which probably cracked open some champagne) *would* probably be considered "bashing" to most people.

Add that to her McCain praising (he's more qualified and experienced than Obama to be commander in chief and of cours he loves his country, unlike Obama), "as far as I know" resume.

24. But you have no problem with Obama going on Chris Wallace show
I have never watched anything on Fox, but when I heard about how well Hillary did, I found the interview online. And she really resisted any attempts by O'Reilly to bash Obama, or NBC.

Obama has been attracting Independent and so-called moderate Republicans. These are the people who watch Fox News... at least more so that the rest of us, Democrats. So both Obama and Hillary, when invited, said yes. Why not?

You see every freeper, even Mrs. Cheney, runs to appear on Jon Stewart. If you want to spread your message, or your book, to as many people as you can, you go to the most popular shows.

As much as Olbermann is hemming and hewing that he is gaining over O'Reilly, his still is the most popular at this time slot.

26. Actually no, I *did* have a problem with him going on Fox News
I said so AND I posted a clip of Cenk (the same guy in this clip) being very critical of how Obama handled himself there. At any rate, Obama's segment wasn't dominated by softball questions meant to bash Hillary about BS issues (sniper fire, etc. And yes, I think the sniper thing was totally overblown).

Funny isn't it? I'm for Obama yet I can also criticize him. You might try the same for Hillary.

And Jon Stewart is not the left equivalent of O'Reilly, so the fact that you try to equate the two says a LOT.

27. Jon Stewart is not the left equivalent, but his audience is
and for any Right Winger to appear on his show does show courage.

But, hey, this is ObamaUnderground so, of course, people will continue to drink the kool-aid of Obama-saint, Hillary-evil no matter what either says or does.

As I posted after the last debate, we had a guest for dinner who does not follow the race, just tell him who is the nominee and he'll vote for him/her. And when they raised the issue of her "likability" my guest said: the fact that they raise this issue means that she can get the job done. And this is what she told O'Reilly. She has been around the block, her life is an open book, warts and all. Obama purposefully has not spent time in any place more than necessary, just enough to build his stepping stones and to move on, leaving nothing behind that could go back and face him.

28. You think the Daily Show audience
is as uninformed/misinformed as Bill O'Reilly's audience?

PS---Obama is not perfect, not by a long shot. Pretending that people think otherwise is is just that, pretending.

25. I did.. and she did
I hadn't watched it till now ... and it was really sad.
In hopes that it would help her candidacy she went on Bill O's show and joined in his bashing of Obama.

The people that watch his show aren't going to vote for her.
I work with these people and they refer to her as Billary and think the Clintons are evil incarnate.
There is no way they are going to vote for her in the GE.

At this point she's nothing more than a tool being used by the right wing... and her and many of her followers are too stupid to see it.

as I said... SAD

I, for one, am outraged by Hillary Clinton's remarks. If she continues this kind of behavior, Barack should fire her as his campaign manager, and tell her to try running for president herself.

33. I'm believing more and more in the 'money' theory
She's way in debt with her campaign and needs to get out from under. That explanation of why she's continuing makes sense to me.

It's a shame. There was a time when I would have voted for her gladly.
