3. She told us that unlike Obama, she is a seasoned skilled fighters that doesn't make these sort of
mistakes. Guess that's another claim that flies out the window. Should make a great campaign ad though.

5. It's a "mash-up", meaning it was cut-and-pasted.
She didn't really say exactly that, in that exact sequence. They just took parts of the interview and spliced them into that new sequence.

Mean-spirited, to be sure. And even though I'm not a Hillary supporter I don't think it's fair to her at all.

2. I'm no Hillary supporter, but what a fucking hatchet job.
This takes "out of context" to a whole other dimension.

4. Yeah, that sort of "out of context" tactic is supposed to be Hillary's
Stop copying her moves! Beyond that, she clearly shows she isn't the skilled fighter, she claimed to be. What an amateurish mistake. This can be a great ad line.

7. Obama would never run an ad with this
It would shatter his campaign theme to bring a different kind of politics.

And I commend him for it.

These kind of tactics suck and come back to bite the person who uses them. See... well, Hillary Clinton.

12. It would be an extremely dishonest ad.
I would hope that MoveOn's members (of which I am one) wouldn't sink to such levels, even in support of their preferred candidate.

32. I agree... This is bullshit... the same bullshit she pulls on Obama that makes her look like an ass.
The reason I am turned off by Hilary is the same reason this sort of ridiculous hype pisses me off. People need to grow up.

Edited on Thu May-01-08 12:49 PM by bowens43
You are making a fool of yourself. In context, she doesn't say anything like what you imply. I can't stand the woman but this kind of bullshit is wrong no matter who it's done to.

17. In context, the conversation was about
raising the taxes on the wealthy but not raising the taxes on the middle class. The implication of what she said, in the context of the conversation (not just a couple sentances) , was that the wealthy should shoulder a greater part of the tax burden then those who are not wealthy.

I can't stand hillary but I saw this interview and in my mind there was no question about she was saying. Not that I believe her, but she certainly did not say or imply what the OP says that she said/implied.

19. The funny thing is that the 'tax' of living on items such as
gas, food, utilities is proportionality higher on the lower and middle class people so the argument about not raising taxes on the middle class is bogus it is happening every day. If I make 20K a year and the gas is 3.50 a gallon it hurts a lot more than if I make 200k and gas is 3.50. This is where her argument is bogus. Thanks for the info. I realize the use of these clips is out of control. It looks like both camps will have their hands full. Peace, Kim

28. and what? Obama meant "bitter" when she took him out of context
Hillary ran an ad with the word "BITTER" in quotes and provided exactly ZERO context for his words.

She should know, when you put on the Pads, you can expect an elbow or two thrown your way.

As it stands, I can think of some rich people who deserve to be locked up with the key thrown away. I'll start with Rupert Murdoch.

15. Please do
If this has been grossly taken out of context, I want no part of it. Stooping to the level of Hillary's (disgusting GOP style) campaign is not the answer here.

Let's stick with the facts and substantive criticism.

24. Thanks. I saw most of it actually
I just didn't specifically remember that part. The important thing is, we shouldn't be taking ANYONE out of context, even if we disagree with them politically.

And believe me, I very much disagree with Hillary (especially since around the time of the 3am fear mongering ad that kicked off her GOP style gutter campaign).

She put it in a convoluted way - but it was not meant as portrayed here, of that I am pretty sure.

But its damn tempting to do a tit for the tatatatatat, thats been the order of the day, huh?

25. Truer words were never spoken from this windbag's mouth.
This is the way the ALL think. "We deserve it".....and the peons deserve what they get. This is what we are up against.

Until "the people" start running the show, these aristocrats are going to take care of us. "Anyone care for some more scraps from the table?"

God bless America...and shake us awake!!!

31. This is TOTALLY out of context, and unfair...
What she said was:

"Rich people, God bless us, we deserve all the opportunities to make sure that our country, and our blessings, continue to the next generation."

That's it in context. Just so we're being fair.

But you know what?

You're wrong, Senator. You don't "deserve an opportunity" to do that.

You have a RESPONSIBILITY to do that. As an elected official, you have a RESPONSIBILITY. As someone who's reaped the benefits of the opportunities that America gives to some and denies (perhaps not actively, but through indifference) to others, you have a RESPONSIBILITY.

And you've failed.

When you walked away from healthcare reform in 1993 because it couldn't pass and it was hurting Bill's presidency - YOU FAILED US.
When you were supposedly opposed to NAFTA and trade de-regulation as First Lady, but couldn't convince your husband not to let it pass - YOU FAILED US.
When you voted to authorize the invasion of Iraq, but made sure that you "strongly recommended" military action only as a "last resort" - YOU FAILED US.

You're a fighter, all right - you just lose all the fights. The Gerry Cooney of politics, ladies and gentlemen!
