Republican Mike Huckabee responded to an offstage noise during his speech to the National Rifle Association by suggesting it was Barack Obama diving to the floor because someone had aimed a gun at him.

Hearing a loud noise and interrupting his speech, Huckabee said: "That was Barack Obama. He just tripped off a chair. He's getting ready to speak and somebody aimed a gun at him and he—he dove for the floor."

There were only a few murmurs in the crowd after the remark.

The Obama campaign had no comment.

9. Part of the reason we are such a violent society is because of innuendo thrown out like Huckabee's.

They just cavalierly throw out remarks like that, not thinking that there are enough nuts out there who will use that remark to embolden them into such extreme action.

And this guy's a preacher?

This guy was a governor of Arkansas?

Doesn't say much about his denomination or the people of Arkansas.

7. First thing that comes to Huckabees mind

is taking out Obama? Reminicent of the Caine and Abel story.... What is the deal with the republican attempts to trash an American who has lead a model life, that's what republicans manner of rewarding great accomplishments.... I don't expect my kids to learn positive life lessons from the republican leaders, they are an embarrassment.
