This just shows that no one in congress, senate or the president actually read most of the bills that make it through.

1. I just heard this on the radio - I wonder if it ever happens and isn't caught
Edited on Thu May-22-08 05:16 PM by JoeIsOneOfUs
I guess it has to be caught by the time it's finally recorded - but on the other hand, is it the actual thing the president signs that ends up back at Congress? I guess it must be.

Bonus - miniclip of Schoolhouse Rock in there!

2. More political theater.
Like Bush really cares about the "excessive spending" in the bill. The Republican congress passed a farm bill a couple years back that was even more egregious. And, of course, we are spending a few billion a month in Iraq.

3. first time in 7 years i've agreed with bush. This bill should not become law..
farm subsidies are a wasteful givaway to wealthy corporate farms and the farm lobby. MAKES NO SENSE when prices are so high. DEMS LOSE this round.

4. It's okay that Congress is complicit in the global food crisis
by paying corporate farmers not to grow food. As long as they get reelected so they can do it again next year, it's all good.
