Special props to ShortnFiery for the video, AA's know that Barack Obama would not even be in a position to win the nomination without White voters. White democratic voters as well as Independents, and moderate Republicans have shown nothing but love and respect for Obama and his family on the political trail. Matter of fact I think when its all said and done the AA community will benefit greatly from witnessing the behavior of the White electorate. It has been a remarkable experience, nothing but class & integrity. And on the other end of the spectrum AA's have decades of experience when it comes to recognizing GOP politics.
Both versions are important

Remember the NAACP sued Mr. Clinton under the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965,for black voter intimidation.

President Clinton's Prison Legacy
When William Jefferson Clinton took office in 1993, he was embraced by some as a moderate change from the previous twelve years of tough on crime Republican administrations. Now, eight years later, the latest criminal justice statistics show that it was actually Democratic President Bill Clinton who implemented arguably the most punitive platform on crime in the last two decades. In fact, "tough on crime" policies passed during the Clinton Administration's tenure resulted in the largest increases in federal and state prison inmates of any president in American history.

Prison Population Increased More Under President Clinton Than Under Reagan and Bush Combined
The Justice Policy Institute released the report, “Too Little, Too Late: President Clinton’s Prison Legacy”yesterday in honor of President’s Day. The report reveals that more state and federal prisoners were added to U.S.prisons during Clinton’s eight years in office than during the term of any prior U.S. president, and more federalinmates were added under Clinton than under Reagan and Bush combined.

So the notion that AA's are voting for Barack Obama simply because he's black is false. The notion that all of a sudden people fell in love with a politician because he's a great speaker is false.
As the years went by the Clinton brand was exposed. The foundation of the Democratic Party is Liberalism. The foundation of the Republican party is Conservatism. When you side with individuals who attack your political foundation, you will eventually pay a price.

2. Same shit, different wing
1. "Prison Population Increased More Under President Clinton Than Under Reagan and Bush Combined"

Comets Hyakutake and Hale-Bopp appeared in the night sky under President Clinton, too. He didn't command the comets to appear, either.

The prison population explosion was largely the result of state laws and law enforcement. Federal laws also added to the number, but they are not made by the President. They are made by Congress, which was taken by the GOP in 1994, though a whole lot of current superdelegates for Obama helped pass more-punitive federal laws in the 1990s.

Clinton was big on rhetoric -- another source of the unending criticism from the recherche left -- but his main contribution to the prison boom was his 100,000 police officer initiative, aimed at preventing crime, not punishing it after it took place. There were also a large number of White House social initiatives that failed to pass Congress; Democrats in Congress are never criticized for the defeats (let alone Republicans!), though Clinton always is.

Finally, the rate of increase fell off during Clinton's terms. That important statistic is never mentioned.

2. "Remember the NAACP sued Mr. Clinton under the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965,for black voter intimidation."

You actually don't have to remember. Right-wing mouthpiece http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2006/1/18/232405.shtml">Newsmax, which broke the story, will remember it for you -- eagerly.

However, when you read what actually took place, you will find that the NAACP sued the State of Arkansas and named the Governor and two other state officials as correspondents. This is S.O.P. in ALL public policy lawsuits. The actual charges involved gerrymandering, a product of the legislature that the executive was held responsible for enforcing. It was entirely appropriate for the NAACP to bring their complaints to the governor (Clinton) and INappropriate to accuse Bill Clinton himself (much less Hillary Clinton) of voter intimidation. So the image of Evil Bill and Hil rubbing their hands together in fiendish glee is just as much a lie from the Clinton-hating Left as it is from the Clinton-hating Right.

3. "So the notion that AA's are voting for Barack Obama simply because he's black is false."

92% of the Black folks in Pennsylvania voted for Barack Obama -- yet the "conventional wisdom" holds that any white person who voted for Hillary is a racist. Someone is playing the Race Card. Black folks make no excuses for voting for a Black president in order to achieve an historical foothold, nor does anyone blame them -- except for real racists, not racists according to Internet pundits.

So why are the anti-Clinton white yuppies making such a fuss? I guess, as the OP cited, they want to improve the African-American electorate by providing a good example.

For that matter, why does the post purport to be about racism, but then recycle old Newsmax garbage about Bill Clinton and the prison explosion during the GOP Congress? Is it because they believe that black people = criminals?

The Clinton haters are a remarkable bunch. They believe they can change history if they scream loud enough and throw as many confused accusations as they can cram onto a single page or screen of information. Clinton's actual record isn't dramatically gruesome enough, so sexy fictions have to be written. And like most low-grade porn, it lives and breeds on the Internet.
