I simply have to take my hat off to the guy. These accounts are vitally important in terms of the history of this period. The Repukes want to spin all this as a great war like WWII where the U.S. changed everything for the better. Which is pure bullshit. It was a lie, it killed a lot of people, destroyed a lot of families and cost a lot of $$.

Americans worked damn hard to get where we are and it is being squandered on continuing this lie.

I think it would be a mistake to let the incredible nature of what he did get caught up in the smoke that he was part of the Bush regime or the "Why Now? Why not before" 's. In my view, this is perfect timing for the GE.

While McClellan is no saint, the fact is that no inside information about the Bush Regime is going to come from a saint. There are and have been no saints inside the Bush Regime.

The best we can hope for is a repentant sinner, or one who's broke.

This is neither the first nor the last book from a Bush Regime insider that damns the junta. There will also be books from insiders attempting to exonerate Bush or Cheney and defend their methods and conflate their stated goals with the actual goals. Hopefully, most of those will be written from prison.

McClellan is the John Dean of the Bush Regime crimes. Dean, who was in the loop and convicted of his part in the Nixon era cover up, was less of a saint than McClellan. Nevertheless, today we honor him for his service to his country. The anti-democratic and corrupt Nixon administration would not have crumbled had Dean not come forward.

It may be too late to bring down the Bush Regime before its scheduled termination in January. McClellan's revelations may be enough to prevent Senator McCain, the self-styled inheritor of Bush's anti-democratic legacy, from becoming president. For that, we will forever owe Scott McClellan a debt of gratitude.
