that I believed him to be telling the truth, for what he knew to be the truth when he discovered it, and I thought his point in closing that this book will be something that a lot of people teach from was poignant.



I think a big point McClellan made will largely be discussed little - and that was the way that GHW Bush beat Dukakis - it was the most negative campaign Americans had seen - he literally shocked the world by beating a guy who was 17 points up on him, with lies, distortion, whisper campaigns and ridicule - while Dukakis remained civil and honorable - and yet Americans chose the bitter ugly sidekick of the president who brought us massive national debt and a total uncaring attitude about the sick (Aids, poor, seniors, babies) and workers rights (Union busting).
