3. I notice you don't address the extremist gun culture. Are you
suggesting there isn't one?

4. Jesus said, "the morans will be with us forever." So, we're just complaining that the gun lobby's
use of primary colors, flash and loud noise presentation is better than our latte style.

Bottom line .. forget 'em. They are being used, and they are as "herdable" as sheep. They really are not a big problem except for close family members and themselves.

5. no, I find them very scary...but they are NOT in the majority like they think
they can do much harm locally..individually...but they cannot overtake the government..which is their fantasy!

6. Anti Gun Democrats only have themselves to blame.
These people would not be nearly so alarmed were the Democratic Party to drop gun control once and for all. As long as prominent Democrats make statements which fuel the belief that citizens' 2nd amendments rights may be further restricted, these fears will remain. Many gun owners will vote Republican in any case. However, there is little doubt many others have been driven into the arms of Republican Party because of anti gun Democrats. It makes me sick to think where we are as opposed to where we'd be if the party had dropped the issue three decades ago. Much less damage done by the GOP to the nation is where.

8. NO WAY! Semi-automatics should never have been allowed in any JOE BLOW'S paws
Plenty of democrats own guns. They are just more responsible. Hopefully....the gun laws will start being enforced, so these idiots will get the hint. Don't worry. It will come back to bite these violent sheeple...fortunately or unfortunately depending on your view.

10. I know...
...plenty of Democrats own guns. I was speaking of Democrats who are anti-gun and constantly push to restrict or ban guns. THOSE are the people who have caused damage to the party and the nation, imo.

21. Hunting rifles and shotguns are semi-automatic
Fully automatics are already illegal. When you advocate for a ban on semi-automatic guns you are playing right into the hands of Republicans. There is nothing about a semi-auto inherently more dangerous than a hunting rifle, 1100 or 1187 Remington shotgun that millions of us use for deer hunting. A ban on semi-autos won't save a single life. It will confirm the NRA's claims, however.

15. We should probably also drop our opposition to racism. Wouldn't want to offend anyone...
Also, I hear the NAMBLA vote is up for grabs...

18. Wow! You managed to equate gun owners with racists AND pedophiles.
And all in just one post! Should have gone for the wife beating angle as well though. Then you could have gotten yourselves whipped up into a REAL hyperbolic froth where it is even fine to talk about chopping off man parts.

19. You're right. I'm being unfair.
Racists and pedophiles cause far fewer deaths than the gun fetishists.

23. It's a serious comment that you have no answer for.
The gun fetishists are, quite simply, advocating a policy that kills people. The fact that it tends to kill them and their family members doesn't seem to bother them.

What possible social benefit is there to owning 20 handguns? What possible societal good is served by a backpack "California Legal" sniper rifle with a 3000-yard range?

This is not about some lofty constitutional issue. The RKBA will do just fine without concealed sniper rifles. This is about a bloodthirsty cult mentality that's killing more people by the month.

12. Reminds me of after-tornado coverage..
Those of us in tornado alley will get this..

After a tornado, ever notice how the local news seems to pick the most moronic neighbor to talk to? The guy with a wife beater t-shirt, or no shirt, but a beer in his hand and 2 teeth in his mouth?

This is the same kind of treatment that's being given to gun shows.

p.s. I notice this in the text- "rocket-propelled grenade launchers and bazooka guns" .. interesting that it didn't make it into the video. (Considering it's an NFA Title II / Class III weapon highly restricted since 1934, I smell BS.)

14. This guy is an investigative reporter. I don't know that he'd
have a reason to lie. He knows that's screw up any credibility he's earned.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Blumenthal

Max Blumenthal is an award-winning American investigative journalist and documentary filmmaker. He or his work has appeared on NPR<1>, MSNBC<2>, in The Nation,<3>, the Washington Monthly, The American Prospect, The Huffington Post,<4>, Salon, and Media Matters.<5> He is the son of former Clinton aide Sidney Blumenthal.

He is a fellow at the New York-based Nation Institute and research fellow for Media Matters for America,<6> as well as being a contributor to The Daily Beast.

Investigative journalism

In 2003, Blumenthal won the Online News Association Independent Feature Award for his investigative article in Salon.com, "Day of the Dead". "Day of the Dead" examined the mysterious killing of hundreds of women in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, and the connection between these killings and the policies of the corporations with factories in the border city.<7>

Blumenthal is well known for his documentary covering the 2007 CPAC convention. It featured impromptu interviews with Michelle Malkin, David Horowitz, and Ann Coulter. Additionally, in July 2007, Blumenthal covered the 2007 College Republican National Convention in Washington, DC. He created a video titled "Generation Chickenhawk" featuring interviews with convention attendees, focusing on why they, as Iraq War supporters, had not or refused to enlist in the armed services. It also featured Tom Delay's address to the attendees, where he asked the conventioners to think about how unnecessary immigrant workers would be, in the sense that had 40 million American children not been aborted in the last thirty years, the nation would not require outside labor. In addition, Max Blumenthal released the documentary "Rapture Ready" in 2007, which examined the link between American Christian fundamentalists and their support of the State of Israel.

In 2008 he investigated and reported on the religious background of Alaskan governor and Republican vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin. His resulting investigative report on this has been widely cited and referenced by researchers and in the media.<8><9><10><11><12><13><14> He also asserted that Newt Gingrich might try and run for President after his entry in the Roman Catholic Church. <15>

16. Dunno.. just seems fishy
Maybe hyperbole, maybe it didn't make the video because he found out later it wasn't what he thought it was (assuming he got video to begin with..)

Wouldn't be the first time a reporter got something wrong.
