Karzai is interviewed by Wolf Blitzer.

He says he doesn't want the US to ever drop bombs in Afghanistan, again.

He says that in a recent bombing by the US, more than 100 civilians died.

1. I say the imperial forces just get the hell out of Afghanistan like, NOW!

They have no good business representing the people of the U.S. by being there.

The box-cutter weilding terrorists who miraculously flew airliners past the strongest airforce in the world at impossible speeds into two buildings and destroying a whole complex of steel and concrete structures in a matter of hours from fire (the only time in history) and also landing one in the Pentagon, one of the most heavily guarded fortresses in the world will not be found in caves in Afghanistan.

Stop killing babies and destroying lives with your robots.

13. You must be joking, right?
Al Qaeda is in over 100 countries. We are going to be fighting an endless war. This is all that Bush/Cheney ever dreamed of. Nothing has changed I see.

3. There has to be a better way than bombing -
This country's actions are putting us deeper into the rabbit hole that I'm afraid we may never emerge from.

7. I think Karzai looks and acts like a liar and an extremely corrupt
gangster-like person in that video.

I saw a video on the war in Afghanistan. It was pretty objective. The army of Afghanistan is pretty shiftless -- pretty worthless, and includes drug addicts and others who are not very reliable. They are undisciplined and cannot be depended upon. It is extremely dangerous and extremely frustrating for the American soldiers who are trying to fight Al Qaeda.

Al Qaeda and the Taliban are serious threats to us (unlike the Iraqis in 2003) because they have knowledge of terrorist methods and have shown that they are willing to use them against Americans. Bombing is a horrible way to wage war, but I don't think there are any realistic alternatives unless you want to have the Taliban take over Pakistan's nuclear weapons.

My assessment of Karzai after watching this video. Obama read him the riot act. Karzai feels very insecure about his future as the leader of Afghanistan. Karzai is a Bush man. He is loyal to Bush and knows that he could easily be replaced. Karzai may not have been given an ultimatum by Obama, but Karzai wants to undermine Obama.

Remember, Karzai does not control much, if any of the countryside in Afghanistan. He has not succeeded in becoming a real leader other than by making deals with the Taliban. He has not offered the people of Afghanistan an attractive alternative to the Taliban an Al Qaeda. In short, he is a failure. If he doesn't want the bombings, he will have to use his political clout to gain political control. That he can't do because he is too corrupt and too weak. So, this is a lame effort on Karzai's part to blame Obama for Karzai's own failure as a politician and leader. This is my guess from watching Karzai in this video and from reading the articles that I have read on the topic.

The poppy business is also an unmentioned thorn in Obama's side when it comes to Karzai. I understand that opium production is very "high" in Afghanistan right now. Obama is not going to accept that. So, Karzai is really on the spot.

Why are we even there? (Yeah, I know, but why are we REALLY there?)

The box-cutter weilding terrorists who miraculously flew airliners past the strongest airforce in the world at impossible speeds into two buildings and destroying a whole complex of steel and concrete structures in a matter of hours from fire (the only time in history) and also landing one in the Pentagon, one of the most heavily guarded fortresses in the world will not be found in caves in Afghanistan."]

Hmm, why that almost sounds like it might be impossible or something

11. King of the Poppy
Karzei is all wrong but fits the bill for how we set up our puppet leaders in foreign countries.

Someone else mentioned he's set up by bush, very true. I believe his brother is the largest or 2nd largest warlord who makes and sells heroin, which is Afghanistan's major and only real export that we've left intact in that country. If we take that away then the poor farmers will go to Al Qaedas side, so we need to replace the infrastructure we told them we'd fix after they defeated the Soviets way back when.

just a few points...
Karzei picked a VP recently who is a warlord and in the heroin business.
Marzei is a puppet put in power by bush, he's not a real leader. A few days prior to 9/11 a leader called "The Lion" (I think that was his nickname, he was a Afghan/Soviet War Hero) who could have been the leader of Afghanistan because of his reputation was assassinated suspiciously and thereafter we had Karzei "chosen" by bush/cheney.
