2. I read once that the original talkin' blues
was by Hank Snow but I've never managed to locate such a track. Any ideas ?

BTW I only found this one by pure chance while proving to someone that Canned Heat copied Henry Thomas from the late '20s

but thanks for the link. There are a lot of interesting YouTube suggestions off of that clip.

It's not surprising that "Going up the Country" wasn't original with Canned Heat. An amazing amount of material from well known rock performers was dredged up from forgotten black musicians.

As far as talking blues, Dylan in his early years was almost like a stand-up comedian with a guitar. That part of his development was been almost buried.
