You put on a very good presentation; not too preachy and not over the top for any non-scientific in the audience.


For those who say that CO2 is not dangerous, I say watch the movie 'Apollo 13,' with Tom Hanks. There is the scene where they realize the CO2 readings are increasing. It is

figured out that a change of the device's filter was not planned for and half an hour of plot is used up trying to change the filter. At the end of this scene all 3 astronauts are

shown waiting to die of CO2 poisoning. But 20th century science and good old American know how come through and everyone breathes easy. I remember it happening because for those 3

days, the Apollo 13 show preempted quite a few of my favorite TV programs.


One quick aside. I just graduated college with a BS in evolution and ecology. Among the presentations I attended was given by a certain professor who was involved in ice core

drilling off the coast of Antarctica. This was a spot that was recently uncovered when part of an ice shelf broke off. This breakage allowed the team to bring up excellent cores

of sediment from the sea floor just off the coast. This was done so the same effect of open sea vs. deep shelf ice could be examined. They estimated that the pattern of shelf ice

breaking off and exposing the sea bed to open ocean happened many times. After the core was analyzed they determined the bottom section was 10 million years old. A diagram was

developed of the climate over that long period and yes, there were fluctuations in warmer and colder weather. What they also determined was that while there were sometimes wildly

gyrating (Over vast time scales) climate changes, these changes took centuries and millenium; we are seeing some these effects after decades.
