1. PERFECT CULTURED EXAMPLE OF RIGHT WING IDEOLOGY
as soon as you interject rationalism, intelligence, sympathy, and personal experience into any faucet in the conservative ideology, the principle in question is immediately quelled ie;
-this currant economic state; proving regulation and oversight are needed as oppose to a "free" market approach
-this currant environmental state; despite the cause, everyone now realizes we need to be more environmentally conscious
-now water-boarding, so many conservatives at first calling us the "whiners" for what they now realize was rationalism

Throughout history the mentality that is known presently as "conservatism" has always chosen tradition over intelligence and has viewed intelligence as an "evil" counter to the "benevolent" tradition. The irony is that Liberals have done more for the people of this country than conservatives and the only obstacle that ever stood in the way of such progress was a conservative agenda.

14. Thanks! And Yes, as "Christian Right" is more antonymous.
All one has to do is actually read the words of Christ to realize His teachings and principles are ironically more aligned with liberal principles than conservative.

4. Challenge them, dammit
If Liz Cheney says it isn't torture, ask her exactly when she and her father will be demonstrating that to us by undergoing this harmless little procedure themselves once or twice or maybe 183 times.

Don't just puff out your chest with the clever idea of changing the terminology to "drowning". Challenge them to a demonstration every dame time any one of them dares to discuss any of these actions without including the word "torture".

Challenge them every single time. Do it consistently. Make sure every damn one of them knows that they won't even get to the end of their first sentence in defense of this stuff before they have the challenge right in their face..

7. Hmmm. That would be a forceful and effective argument. Therefore, we mustn't challenge anyone.
Ask Harry Reid. We're Democrats. We don't use forceful and effective challenges.

Sorry, I don't make the rules.

8. This would be sooooo simple
It can even be done politely without violating the Senate rules. Simple memorize this sentence and use it everything one of the Republicans uses the words "enhanced interrogation"

"If the gentleman from _____ believes this so-called 'enhanced interrogation' is not torture in violation of our own laws and the Geneva convention, then perhaps the gentleman would share his calendar so we can schedule him for a waterboarding session so he can show us that it isn't torture. I yield 10 seconds of my time for the gentleman to tell us the date when he will do this."

Even Harry Reid ought to be able to manage that.

15. You mis-read my sarcasm. The Harry Reid rule #1 is: Be A Doormat.
No effective argument allowed. Particularly not forceful argument.

11. Good for Mr. Muller...
...seriously. At least he was willing to be put to the test, and is willing to acknowledge the results.

Thank you Mr. Muller -- that cannot have been fun.
