47. You mean . ..
re the GOP . . .

I put the post up because I think we need to know what they are trying to

do to Pelosi . .

It was my comment on the post -- that we should throw back at them what they

are doing to Pelosi that I realized is wrong.

Even if they said it -- we shouldn't use it even to try to wake them up!

34. You know the GOP is equating Speaker Nancy Pelosi with "Pussy Galore" . . .
Here's the article I posted today . . .

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=5708038&mesg_id=5708038

But I agree with the comments below . . . why further this sexism?

And, in my post I was also suggesting that I think of the GOP as "Pussy Galore"
or a "Little bit slutty, a little bit nutty" -- and in rethinking it that would
also be wrong -- even tho it's only throwing their own garbage back at them.

That poster has it right . . . why would we be degrading women in order to degrade
Hannity or the GOP!!

Hope you agree --

:)

38. The fact the GOP would attempt this
Edited on Sat May-23-09 08:29 PM by omega minimo
is indicative of their misogyny and shows how misogyny (like the ignorant post above, if it's still there) feeds the forces of evil that dominate control of the planet.

The CLEAR overconcentration of dominant male power in the GOP and the waterboarding "techniques" and the shock jock media mentality so stupid it doesn't even know what waterboarding IS, while volunteering to be waterboarded, is off the charts. It really is starting to look like testosterone poisoning.

And all the GOP and some goon here can think to do is refer to the other out of control males is put them down as feminine?

Where does that kind of insanity end? :nuke: :nuke: :nuke:

6. Thumbs-up to Mancow for having the guts to do it
He's generally been an ass for most of his broadcast career, but standing up for what he approves of -- and likewise having the guts to admit he was wrong -- puts him miles ahead of just about every other conservative out there.

I never had a very high opinion of Christopher Hitchens, either -- until he submitted to the waterboard. So I may not agree with either Hitchens or Muller any more than I did before, but at least I know they aren't total punk-ass hypocrites.

Two out of ... how many thousands of chickenhawks? For all their bravado, only two of them put their opinions to the test.

Pathetic, ain't it?

9. Absolutely. But one tiny correction
KO is donating the money to the charity of the Marine's choice, not Mancow's charity. Not a big difference, but this is a smart move for all involved. It makes it look less like a publicity stunt.

Among the three main players in this drama (KO, Mancow, and Hannity), two of the men have integrity and the other is a weasel.

48. Both gained a little respect from me
A million chickenhawks said it wasn't torture and only two, so far, have had the cajones to put their money where their mouth was. Both of them also had the guts to admit they were wrong. I still don't like either of them but they gained a little respect for that.

Isn't it interesting how everybody who has actually been waterboarded (Mancow, Hitchens, Jesse Ventura, dozens of others) ALL say it's torture?

13. I thought the same exact thing - running it once in the segment was MORE than enough - otherwise
it is sensationalist and painful to sit through as it's played through over and over, I ended up just listening to the audio and scrolling down. I don't want to be desensitized to torture, #1, and #2 it makes me uncomfortable.

11. Outstanding but I disagree with O'Donnell on one thing
I do agree that they "family line" about it not being torture is simply a time consuming effort in any discussion much like "Should the goverment be doing it" in policy discussions on TV

BUT

As informative as this was I fear that we will hear about a bunch of knucklehead frat boy types doing this on their own (basically to measure themselves against the like of "Mancow") and waterboarding videos will become this year's Mentos-and-DietCoke on youtube. I hope not but it wouldn't surprise me.

after watching this, I thought that it (waterboarding) really doesn't look that bad BUT of course IT IS, so it is very deceptive. This got me wondering how it feels, so I'm sure we'll be seeing this on youtube.

That would be the ONE WAY to shut those two f*ckers up...and maybe the whole line-up at the propaganda network..but we know they are cowards and would NEVER acknowledge being challenged to put their mouth where their mouth is.

Instead....mr. unnecessary will continue to bull shit his brain dead audience who wish to believe we are becoming "a fascist state", "a socialist nation"...and continue their fantasy that bush/darth were actually "good for our country". After all....vannity told Jesse Ventura he believed the country was "better off after bush"...which is the prize for total lunacy.

And Mancow should do it. There is nothing wrong be having a conservative worldview if you are open to facts and reason. Maybe after this episode, Mancow can set an example for the other right wing radio hosts.

And it would be a pretty good career move for him.

I can't figure out what purpose it served, other than getting torture to play on TV.

I can't and won't watch waterboarding in the same way I can't and won't watch that video of that guy getting his head cut off.

What the fuck is wrong with this country? With the world, for that matter?

I gotta find Lil Missy's hiding spot and crawl in for a little bit...lol.

(EDIT: Or is it just starting? Backyard wrestlers (and, as someone posted above, frat boys) are doubtless gonna wanna get in on the "fun").

42. "it is way worse than I thought it would be" -can you say "symbolism"?
If only we'd hear more of this type of honesty.

-Conservative says water boarding is not torture,
-Conservative gets water boarded,
-Conservative says, "it is way worse than I thought it would be"

Oh! I like this! Let's try some more!

-Conservative says no regulation, free markets, put an end to government oversight,
-Recession hits because of irresponsible unregulated financial practices,
-Conservative says, "it is way worse than I thought it would be"

-Conservative says we shouldn't have environmental standards because we have nothing to worry about,
-Global Warming theory aside, Carbon emissions through the roof, Ice caps melting, exhausted resources,
-Conservative says "it is way worse than I thought it would be"

-Conservative says privatized healthcare is best in the world,
-USA ranked 37th in the world, costs trillions, 46 million not insured, thousands die because of no insurance,
-Conservative says "it is way worse than I thought it would be"

I'm sure you can keep going especially if you look back in history.

45. I have less than zero respect for Sean Hannity
I don't really think he should have been waterboarded, it's not a game, as I've pointed out here before I tried it, and it's really not worth doing. However, Hannity said he would do it, and he said he'd do it for charity while cheaply using the name of the troops when he did it. So afterwards, he was challenged to do it for charity and he did nothing. Then he was mocked daily for it. I can tell you this, if somebody tried to humiliate me like that after I said I would do something, well I'd back up what I said, otherwise I couldn't live with myself. I've never had much respect for Hannity, I think he's a liar and sleazy propagandist, but if he would have backed up his convictions I could at least respect that. I might not agree with Mancow on much, if anything, but at least he backed up his words and tried this out, Hannity was repeatedly called out on it after he tried to hide behind the troops and said he would be waterboarded. He didn't even make an attempt to try it, not even for charity. Pathetic. That's one of the most embarrassing displays of cowardice I have ever seen. It's disgusting. If you say something, at least, have the sand to back it up, even if you fail, it's better than living your whole life as a total chickenshit.
